Share price, dividend per share and quantity → after-tax dividends
15.4% for residents (14% income tax + 1.4% local tax), withheld at payment.
Example: 400 shares at ₩50,000 (₩20 million) paying ₩2,500 per share a year give ₩1,000,000 before tax, a 5% yield. Korea withholds 15.4% dividend tax (₩154,000), so you receive ₩846,000 — about ₩70,500 a month.
Non-residents usually have withholding at the treaty rate for their country instead, which can be lower or higher than 15.4%.
Monthly income goal: to receive ₩1,000,000 a month after tax from a 5% yield, you need about ₩12 million a year after tax, or about ₩14.2 million before tax, which requires roughly ₩284 million invested. Use the monthly goal tab to try different yields. Remember that dividends can be cut, and that Korean companies traditionally paid once a year, though quarterly dividends are now more common.
